LOUISBURG--Cynthia Jo Parrish Smith, 65, of Louisburg departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Wake Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on October 12, 1954 to the late Fred Oswald and Annie Lancaster Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruffin Alton Smith. Cynthia was a fighter all the way to the end and if she loved you, you knew it. If she didn't love you, you knew that as well.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6:00 pm at New Hope Worship Center with Pastor Joe Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

She is survived by her daughters, Brittini Parrish DeJesus (William), Miranda Medley Tharrington and Buffy Jo Tharpe (George); grandchildren, Taylor Layne Broughton, Jonathan Garrett Tharrington, Chandler Avery Broughton, Melayna Brooke DeJesus, Meredith Claire DeJesus, Ashley Brooke Poole, Lauren Grace Miller, Cohen William DeJesus and Adalyn Parrish DeJesus.
