FRANKLINTON--April Michelle Pender, 46, of Franklinton died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 at WakeMed Health. Funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. at Kinches Chapel Christian Church, 1055 Gordon Moore Road, Franklinton, with the Rev. Willie R. Nixon serving as eulogist.

She was born July 9, 1974 to Bernice Pender-Massenburg and the late Charles Williams. She was a 1994 graduate of Franklinton High School of Franklinton.

Surviving: sons, Charles Pender and Andrew Cates of the home; mother, Bernice Pender-Massenburg of Youngsville; one sister, Yasha Smith (Bryant) of Louisburg; one brother, Clint Pender (Teresa) of Bunn; fiancé and caregiver, Rickey Cates of Franklinton; two grandchildren; one niece and two nephews; stepmother, Fairy Williams of Louisburg; four stepchildren; uncles and aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
