DEBORA LAVERN PERRY


Debora Lavern Perry was born August 27, 1951 to the late Lillie G. Perry in Franklin County, North Carolina. The late Elder Albert and Lillian P. Person assumed legal guardianship of Debora until their demise. On January 7, 2021 Debora transitioned to her eternal home at Maria Parham Hospital, Henderson, NC.

As a youth, she attended the Ramson Way of the Cross Church in Franklin County and for the past seven years, Debora attended The Greater Refuge Church of Christ of Henderson, NC.

Although Debora was basically non-verbal, she was able to develop a social life and basic sign language skills. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She participated in a sheltershop program formerly Inco and renamed Workforce Solutions for many years.

Survivers include a sister, Glastine Perry of Butner, NC; one aunt, Roline P. Washington of Bamberg, SC; two uncles, Clarence Person of Louisburg, NC and George Person of Henderson, NC; a host of cousins, co-workers and friends; and a dedicated caregiver, Minister Edith Green of the home.

Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 at Hawkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. W. T. Winston and Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating.

Cutchins Family Mortuary & Cremations of Franklinton was in charge of services.
