FRANKLINTON, NC--Evelyn Gower Nicholson Bracknell passed away on August 1, 2021 at the age of 100. Evelyn was born on April 11, 1921 to the late Christopher and Ruby Gower Nicholson. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Walter Bracknell; a daughter, Carolyn Eckstein; and a grandson, Sean Watts.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Fran Watts (Don); her sons, James Bracknell (Patricia), and Chris Bracknell (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Robert Bracknell (Patricia), Michael Bracknell (Christina), Andrew Watts (Janeen) and Karissa Sluss (Sammy); and her 10 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn loved her family and tending to her grandchildren and then the great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard, as well as cooking ,eating and watching Jeopardy. Evelyn loved shopping with Fran and vacationing with her family. She loved the Mitchner's Crossroads community and was the oldest member of Perry's Chapel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 3 - 3:45 p.m. at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St. Franklinton, NC 27525, where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. with Reverends David Averette and Josh Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Methodist Church cemetery.
