LOUISBURG, NC--George Wilson Hunter Jr., 74, of Louisburg, passed away on December 1, 2021. He was born on March 11, 1947 to the late George and Estelle Rogers Hunter.

George is survived by his wife, Peggy O'Neal; stepdaughters, Yulanda Hamm and Robin Easters; grandchildren, Ashley Knight, Thomas Hamm, III, Jessica Royall (Andrew), Katie Dequebec, and Victoria Davis (Seth); and six great-grandchildren.

George or "Buddy" as he was more commonly known served his country in the US Army, and was a member of the American Legion. He was a devoted husband, a role model, and a generous, loving spirit that spread a lot of joy. Buddy was a passionate reader, who enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and model trains.

Family memorial services will be private.
