KITTRELL, NC--Joel Nello Sherron Jr, 70, of Kittrell passed away on March 9, 2022. He was born on October 10, 1951, to the late Joel Sr. and Katherine Williams Sherron. In addition to his parents, Joel was predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Anna Sherron; brothers, James "Nello" Sherron and Walter Sherron; and a sister, Patricia Carter.

Joel is survived by his son: Jimmie Gupton, and his wife, Stephanie; grandchildren: Matthew, Carleigh and Lia Gupton; his brother, John Sherron (Betty); sisters, Martha Weathers (Bobby), and Bonnie Lockleair; several nieces and nephews and pets, Axle, Rock, and Ribeye.

Joel was known as Joey by those he was close to, enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He had an astonishing memory for numbers, dates, and times. Joel loved his dogs as part of his family.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Lancaster's Chapel in Franklinton. The family received friends following the service.
