FRANKLINTON, NC--Ira Edward Day, Franklinton, age 98, died April 12, 2022 at Wakemed Health & Hospitals, Raleigh, NC.

Born Oct. 8, 1923 in Vance County, NC, Ira was the son of the late James and Mary Day of Vance County, North Carolina.

Ira was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Henderson.

Survivors: three sons, Ira Day, Jr., (Myrna) of Olympia, WA, Henry Lee Day (Patricia) of Franklinton, NC, and Larry Burnett Day of Knightdale, NC; two daughters, Mildred Day of Louisburg, NC, and Constance Rice (Hubert) of Philadelphia, PA; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Eulogistic Service was Thursday, April 21 at Faith Baptist Church, 249 Holden Road in Youngsville, with Rev. Steven Wade Pastor, Rev. Andre Johnson, Eulogist. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Franklinton. Arrangements by Cutchins Family Mortuary & Cremations.
