FRANKLINTON, NC--Edith Ivion Gales, 88, of Franklinton, died July 22, 2022 at Louisburg Healthcare Rehabilitation Center, Louisburg, NC.

Edith was born July 26, 1934 in Franklinton, NC to the late Nathaniel and Lola Gales.

Along with her husband, Ollie Lynch, Jr., she was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Faye Lynch Alston; two brothers, James and William Gales, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Survivors: three daughters, Florese Sutton (David), Natalie Edgerton (Kenneth), all of Louisburg, NC, and Linda L. Kearney of Franklinton, NC; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grand-children; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Waldorf, MD and Marion C. Mitchell of Youngsville, NC; one brother, Nathaniel E. Gales (Verta) of Cambria Heights, NY; three sisters-in-law, Blanche Lynch, Elaine Gales, and Pearl Lynch; cousins, friends, nieces, nephews.

Funeral service was 1 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Franklinton with the Rev. Andre Johnson, officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Franklinton. Cutchins Family Mortuary & Cremations in charge of arrangements.
