Spring Hope, NC-- Betty Jean Murray Bartholomew Merritt, 81 of Spring Hope died Tuesday, August 16, 2022. She was born on June 16, 1941, to the late George W. and Anna Belle Bailey Murray. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Lewis Earl Bartholomew, and then David Merritt.

Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Charlotte Bartholomew; two granddaughters, her great two grandchildren, and her sister, Frances Colbert.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 6:45 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Riverside Baptist Church, 1321 Old Dam Rd. Kenly, NC 27542, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2022, at Lancaster Memorial Park.
