LOUISBURG -- Mattie Wilder Edwards, 95, of Louisburg passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022.

She was born to the late William Henry Wilder and Onnie Parrish Wilder on June 22nd, 1927 in Franklin County, NC.

Mattie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clarence Avery Edwards; her siblings, Eugene Marshall Wilder, Billy Wilder, W.H. Wilder Jr., Austine Moss, Margaret Morris, Maude Clary, Josephine Rooker.

She is survived by her daughter of the home Carolyn Edwards, her brother Frank Wilder; her sister, Frances Wornom; and several nieces and nephews.

Mattie will always be remembered for her love of the outdoors.

She enjoyed mowing the grass, fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with her cat "Cookie". In her younger years she helped out on the family farm.

She worked very hard to provide for her family.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisburg and will be officiated by Rev. Stan Smith.

Family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
