Louisburg, NC-- Memorial services for Sylvester "Syl" Chavis, age 72, who died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 4 p.m. from the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel in Louisburg.

Born September 8, 1950, he is survived by one daughter, Shannon Chavis-Smith (Keith) of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Evelyn Regina Mitchell Manns and Irma Chavis Bailey (Luke), both of Louisburg, NC, Elaine Chavis-Young of Henderson, NC; three brothers, Bobby Hartsfield (Christine) of Springfield, MA, Joe Douglas Chavis of Henderson, NC, Bernard Chavis of Oxford, NC; and one granddaughter.
