Jeanette Powell Renn Rowe

LOUISBURG, NC -- Jeanette Powell Renn Rowe joined her husband Jerry T. Rowe in their heavenly home on February 2, 2023. Jerry and Jeanette, two who always belonged together (and who even shared a birthday), created a love-filled home for their daughters Robin Faulkner (John) and Linda Stephens (Dale).

If it were possible to love their children even more, Jerry and Jeanette loved especially their grandchildren Katherine Junk (Philip), Sarah Faulkner, Ben Stephens (Sara), and Jacob Stephens (Rebecca); and then Jeanette had the extra joy to love great-granddaughters Emma and Macon. When asked what she was thankful for, Jeanette always responded, "my family." And her family too are so very thankful for the blessing of her love and guidance, love that shaped their lives and faith.

Jeanette's love for family was created early by her Renn family. She is preceded in death by parents Clarence and Fannie Renn; her brothers Wilson (Doris), Lewis (Helen), Alvin (Nancy), and Macon (Ocie); her sisters Syble Woodard (John), Mary Bailey (Joe), and Peggy Pinnell (Red). Jeanette is survived by sisters Jane Pearce (Bill) and Faye Shearin (Milton). A wonderfully large family, they grew up working hard on the farm and worshiping in church together. Most special memories of the Renn family included holidays with a home overfilled with several generations visiting, playing, eating, and singing hymns around the old piano.

Jeanette's family grew as she married Jerry Rowe. She is survived by his sister Charlotte Williams (Jerry), and his brothers Billy (Norma) and Larry (Kathy); she is predeceased by Jerry's sister Cora Elizabeth.

Jeanette's family was very special to her. And that family included her church, Hickory Rock Baptist, neighbors and friends too numerous to count, as well as the Dickens family. Jeanette's work in the community included 52 years as a bookkeeper for L.H. Dickens & Sons and her service as a founding member of the White Level Rescue Squad.

Jeanette Rowe was a person truly filled with the heart of Christ. She had a servant's heart, always seeking to help another person, to encourage and support. Family was important to Jeanette. And that family started first with her Heavenly Father and the Savior she served faithfully with all of her life.

In honor of Jeanette, first share the gift of your heart with a neighbor. Jeanette especially valued the Baptist Children's Home, so memorial gifts to BCH are appreciated in lieu of flowers. Donations may be made through Hickory Rock Baptist Church, with BCH noted on the memo line, or directly to BCH.

Services were held at Hickory Rock Baptist Church on Sunday, February 5, 1:30 p.m., visitation followed immediately afterwards.
