Mary Boone Toney, 95, formerly of Louisburg, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Born February 14, 1927, Mary was the daughter of the late James Herbert and Frances Frazier Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband Burt F. Peoples, Sr., son Frank Peoples, and sisters Hazel McClure and Athlea Shelton.

Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family received friends immediately following the service. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg.

Mary is survived by her sons Oden Spivey of Knightdale, Francis Toney (Diana), and James Toney (Gay Nell), all of Garner; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
