OXFORD, NC--Diane Marie Thorpe, age 65, of Oxford, died Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late William Hockaday, Sr. and Annie Hockaday born on March 4, 1957.

Along with her parents, Diane was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Hockaday, Brenda Cooley, Patricia Hockday, and Linda Hockaday; and one brother, Tim Cooley.

Survivors: her husband of 45 years, Deacon LaGrant M. Thorpe of the home; two sons, LaGrant M. Hockaday (Louise) and Antonio L. Thorpe; one daughter, Kristen L. Thorpe (Ladarius); three sisters, Claudia Parham, Melissa Hockaday, and Gloria Hockaday; one brother, William Hockaday Jr; three grandchildren; mother-in-law, Louise Thorpe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 at Hawkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton.

Interment in church cemetery, Rev. Dr. Kenneth M. Williams, pastor.
