YOUNGSVILLE, NC--Jody Brendle Pait, age 71 of Youngsville passed away after a long illness at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

She was born in Bryson City on August 1, 1951 to Zeb and Viola Brendle. She was educated in Swain County Public schools and had been employed as the Office Manager for Pait Security Systems for several years.

Jody was preceded in death by her son, Jackie "Jack" Cope and her sister, Judy Brendle.

She is survived by her husband Edward Pait Sr.; daughter, Tona Bowers; stepchildren, Liz Hancock (Chris), Samara Langley (Richard), Edward Pait Jr. (Pamela), and Traci Vandeputte (Shane); grandchildren, Dillon Bowers (Kay Tee), Bryson Bowers, Jeremy Cope, and Jacob Cope; step-grandchildren, Claire Hancock, Ashley DeCamp, Tyler DeCamp, Brandon DeCamp, Chelsea Dunham, Brian Morgan, Edward Pait III, Brittany Pait, Alexa Pait, Taylor Turner, Madison Vandeputte, Katlyn Barnette, Brittany Steil (Ryan), and many loving great grandchildren; brother, Junior Brendle; sisters, Janie Wilson and Jeanette Cochran.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest, NC.
