LOUISBURG, NC--Charles Ray Phelps, 78, died at his home on June 11, 2023.

Charles was born to Collie and Emma Phelps on February 27, 1945.

Charles is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son, Matt Debnam (Kristine); his sister, Jean Gordon; and many nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jimmy and Howard Neal; his brother-in-law, Bob Gordon; and his nephew, Michael Green.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg. The family received friends before the service and at other times at the home.
