FRANKLINTON, NC--Johnny Barry Pender, age 77, of Franklinton, died Friday, September 1, 2023.

Born July 29, 1946 in Franklin County, NC, he was the eldest child of the late Frank B. and Lucy Pettiford Pender.

Survivors: wife of 52 years, Dorothy Jones Pender of the home; one daughter, Andrea Nicole Pender-Montague (Jonathan) of Youngsville, NC; one son, Barry Ryan Pender of Rolesville, NC; four grandchildren, six sisters, Janice Davis (Worthy) and Jewel Holden (Harold) both of Franklinton, NC, Joyce Pender-Morgan (Lonnie) of Creedmoor, NC, Bernice Pender Massenburg, Gloria Patricia Pender, and Rev. Jeanette Pender-Powell (Connie) all of Youngsville, NC; three brothers, Newell Pender (Sharon) of Franklinton, NC, Anthony Pender of Rocky Mount, NC, and Stanley Pender (Jean) of Stem, NC; two sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law, aunts and uncles, nieces, and nephews; cousins, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, September 9, at Kinches Chapel Chrisitan Church, 1055 Gordon Moore Road, Franklinton. Officiating will be Rev. Eddie Williams, Jr. Pastor and Eulogist Rev. Jeanette Pender-Powell.

Interment will be at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Dr., Wake Forest, NC.

Viewing is Friday, 6-7 p.m. at Cutchins Family Mortuary & Cremations, 7 West Green Street, Franklinton.
