Franklinton, NC-- Dwight Leon Garrett, 70, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 with family members by his side. He was born December 28, 1952 in Vance County to Violet Longshaw Garrett of Franklinton and the late James William "Bill" Garrett. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Ann Garrett and Mary Ann Garrett Watson.

In addition to his mother, Dwight is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Jeffers Garrett; his son, Michael Chad Garrett; and his daughter, Tiffany Lynn Garrett (Jeremiah); four grandchildren; his brother, Mark Phillip Garrett and many nieces and nephews.

The family received friends, 2-2:45 p.m., Saturday, November 11, at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 East Mason Street, Franklinton, NC, where funeral services were held at 3 p.m., with Reverend Spencer Strickland officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery.
