LOUISBURG – Daphine H. Horton, 83, of Louisburg, died Tuesday night. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Horton. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband, Glynwood Horton; her sisters, Gladys H. Denton and Josephine H. Young; and a nephew, Herbert Young. She was a member of Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Thursday at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverend John Young officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Horton is survived by her nieces, Ann May, Sue Southerland, Debbie Duke, Gail Hockaday and Joyce Young; her nephew, Bobby Young; and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
