Vicki Cash Leonard October 23, 1951 - January 28, 2024
WINSTON-SALEM, NC--Vicki Cash Leonard, 72, daughter of Ruth Roberts Cash and Fad Cannady Cash, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, at her home in Winston-Salem, surrounded by her loved ones. Vicki was gifted with a wide range of talents. She excelled at sewing and bowling, and her strong connection to nature showed in her green thumb and her compassion for animals, especially elephants. Her warm and welcoming personality made everyone feel at home, and her cooking--whether it was her mouth-watering southern-style fried chicken or pork chops-- was always a hit at family gatherings. And no one could make sweet tea quite like her. Vicki's kind heart and infectious spirit endeared her to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother, cherished granny, and loyal friend. The baby girl of a large family, her brothers and sisters doted on her from birth. A popular, beautiful, and kind young woman, she was the first Freshman at Franklinton High School ever to be named Homecoming Queen. Her casino trips with her siblings were always a source of fun and excitement, and they cherished the memories they made together. Though she was less physically able in her final years, she still enjoyed the company and care of her family, doing art projects with daughter Elizabeth, being taken out for short trips with her son Kevin, or singing songs with granddaughter Lilly. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a home-cooked meal, Vicki was always there for her loved ones. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she touched, including her children Gail, Kevin, Casey, and Elizabeth, her grandchildren Ashley, Silas, Austin, Mateo, and Lilly, her sister Diane, her brothers Jeff, John, and Joe, and many other family and friends.
