Louisburg, NC--James J. Kirby, 83, of Louisburg, formerly of Middletown and West Hartford, CT, died February 7, 2024.

Jim was born in Hartford on August 22, 1940, the son of the late James Kirby and Mary (Bankoski) Kirby.

Survivors: his wife, Kathryn Gibbons Kirby; daughters, Carolyn (Corey) Berlin of Cary, NC and Kimberly(Carlos) Lopez of Manchester, CT; and eight grandchildren.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2227 NC 39, Louisburg, NC, on February 17 at 10 a.m. Visitation will take place from 9-10 a.m. at the church. Burial services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Miracle League of Franklin County, 599 Alford Mill Rd. Bunn, NC 27508.
