Virginia Chappell Tart December 30, 1932 - August 8, 2024
FRANKLINTON, NC--Virginia Chappell Tart, 91, born and raised in Franklin County, passed away on August 8, 2024 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Virginia was born on December 30, 1932 to the late Joseph H. and Lucy Joyner Chappell. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her two brothers, Harvey and Joseph, and five sisters, Inez, Patty, Lucy Lee, Ethel and Rosa. Virginia was the baby of eight children. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Tammy Bell and husband Ricky of the Edward Best community; Grandson, Nicholas Bell, wife Heather and great grandchildren Logan & Aubree; Granddaughter, Chelsey Jones, husband Zach and great-grandson Conrad. Grandson Jacob Bell and soon to be wife Miranda Winstead. Virginia is survived by her son, Shawn Tart, wife Kellie and granddaughter, Ansleigh, who reside in Youngsville. *Virginia cared deeply for her family and was a woman of faith. She prayed every night and prayed to the Lord lifting up name and circumstance. *Virginia was smart and graduated from Franklinton High School in 1950 as the high school Salutatorian. *Virginia led by example having her hair perfectly fixed, while dressing fashionable, and added her cologne to her wardrobe and having others around her compliment her saying "You smell so good". *Virginia cultivated a career as a beautician, and worked in several high-end hair salons on the east coast, central United States and west coast. Her outstanding quality of workmanship awarded her trophies for her hairstyles. *Virginia was a military wife married to Edison Martin Tart and the US Marine Corps for 19 years, which allowed her to travel, live, cultivate friendships, go home to family to visit, and see and endure so much of the United States. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel with Reverend Bruce Tucker officiating. Entombment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caretakers involved in Virginia's care in the last month. Funeral arrangements were trusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services.
