RALEIGH, NC--Ronald Douglas McConnell Sr., 76 of Raleigh, died Saturday morning, October 12, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.

Born September 24, 1948, Ronald was preceded in death by his mother Virginia M Ransdell, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Ronald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Janice McConnell Jr of Raleigh; brothers, Lynn, Vick, and Phillip McConnell all of Raleigh; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family received friends and family from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg. Burial followed in the Ransdell Family Cemetery. The family will then continue to celebrate his life at the family home after burial.
