Arthur "Buddy" Maitland Burkam III, 67, died Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born on June 25, 1957 to the late Arthur M. Burkam Jr. and Hazel Wilson Burkam in Tampa, Florida.

In addition to his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sue and Art Burkam Sr. and his maternal grandparents, A.I. and Doris Pass Wilson.

Survivors: his loving wife of the home, Gail Durham Burkam; two daughters, Crystal Jones and Nikki Harris (Charles) both of Louisburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two soon to be great-grandbabies; two siblings, Cheryl Hight and Annette Burkam; two nieces; a great-niece, and his lifelong friend, Mickey Dillard.

A Celebration of Life was held Friday, December 13, at 3 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC and was officiated by Pastor Deana Vassar. The family received friends and visitors immediately following the service. To honor Buddy's memory, attendees were asked to dress comfortable and casual as that is how he would prefer everyone to be.
