CASTALIA -- Funeral services for Joyce R. Scott, 76, who died on Wednesday, May 28, will be held noon on Monday, June 2, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Refuge Center in Hollister with Pastor Linda Taybron officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Herbert C. Scott of the home; one daughter, Ada M Scott-Smith (Ira) of Rocky Mount; one son, Jered Scott (Lakesha) of Castalia; three sisters, Sandra R. Peace (Fred) and Ada Williams (Joe), both of Castalia, and Carolyn Montague (Willie) of Knightdale; one brother, Michael Richardson, Sr. (Ruth) of Castalia; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the St. John Baptist Church in Red Oak.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
