NASHVILLE, NC -- Funeral services for Joseph Leon Speight, age 74, who died on Friday, June 20, 2025, will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville with Rev. Xavien Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Church Cemetery.

Born on Nov. 27, 1950, he is survived by his wife, Odessa Davis Alston Speight of the home; one daughter, Sharon Green (Junior) of Enfield, NC; one son, Terrance Speight of Nashville, NC; five sisters, Janet Clinton of Nashville, NC, Alma Cooper (MacArthur) of Battleboro, NC, Angela Speight of Nashville, NC, Deborah Harris (Craig) of Stockbridge, GA, Jackie Harris of Nashville, NC; four brothers, Milton Warren, Kennedy Speight, Gregory Speight and Louis Speight (Charlissa), all of Nashville, NC; one step-son, Christopher Alston (Bianca) of Rocky Mount, NC; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
