LOUISBURG, NC -- Jon Robert Bailey, 78, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning, July 29, 2025, in his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

Jon was the son of the late Bob Bailey and late Pat Hyde. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lucretia Bailey; sisters, Katy Finley, Julie Anderton and Jeannie Nall; brother, Mike Bailey.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at Rock Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Melton Tyson officiating. The family received family and friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Jon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Paulette Bailey; daughter, Jonette Shearin; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tina Bailey; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Jim Robertson; brothers and sister-in-law, Don Hyde, Brett Hyde, Mark and Cassie Hyde; five grandchildren, two great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
