RALEIGH - Margaret Eakes Tuttle, 84, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008. A funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh, with the Rev. Dr. David Hailey officiating. A private burial was at Montlawn Memorial Park.

She was born in Oxford, the first-born twin of the late E. O. and Grace Currin Eakes. She and her husband, Myron Tuttle, established a long-time retail business, Tuttle Appliance Company, in Louisburg and Raleigh.

She was a charter member of the Louisburg Woman’s Club.

She was predeceased by her twin sister, Eloise Eakes Heath, and elder brother George Thomas Eakes.

Surviving: her husband, Myron U. Tuttle; son, Robert M. Tuttle of Morehead City; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
