ZEBULON - Helen Stone Rankin, 83, died Monday, March 17, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 20, at Strickland Funeral Home in Wendell. Burial followed in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

She was born in Person County, daughter of the late Woodson Lyon Stone and Lessie Walker Stone. She was a retired restaurant owner.

She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Surviving: daughters, Martha McLean Reeder and Rita Brezette; son, Jim McCann, all of Zebulon; sisters, Ellen Brown of Zebulon and Louise Hunt of Durham; brothers, Harold Stone of Hillsborough, Carroll Stone of Prospect Hill; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
