LOUISBURG - Nell Durham Lyles, 86, formerly of Rocky Mount, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Louisburg Nursing Center in Louisburg. Graveside services were conducted Monday, March 31, at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.

She was born in Vanceboro to the late Rev. Ernest C. Durham and Roberta W. Durham. She was employed at one time by Carolina Telephone Company in Tarboro, where she met her husband, Martin Pitt Lyles, who preceded her in death.

Surviving: her daughter, Gay Marie Myers (Robert) of Youngsville; son, John Rayford “Jack” (Sandee); and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to either First United Methodist Church of Rocky Mount, 100 South Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.
