ZEBULON - Vera Hursey Hilton, 87, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at Wake Med. Graveside services were conducted Thursday, April 3, at Montlawn Memorial Park.

She was born in Wake County to the late Ernest Hayes and Artelia Watkins Hayes. She was a charter member of Caraleigh Baptist Church.

Surviving: son, Rick Hursey (Ellen) of Zebulon; daughters, Susie Thompson (Tommy) of Clayton, Anna Fox of Clayton, Carolyn McLeod of Raleigh, Betty Edwards (Grover) of Cerro-Gordo, Brenda Kurtz (Benny) of Palatka, Fla.; sister, Margaret Reasons (J. W.) of Raleigh; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Taylor, and a brother, David Hayes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caraleigh Baptist Church, 1400 Green St., Raleigh, NC 27603.
