LESLIE M. MOORE


LOUISBURG - Leslie MacDonald Moore, 87, died at home on July 29, 2008. A private burial service was conducted at Parklawn Memorial Park on Friday, Aug. 1, followed by an 11:00 am public memorial service honoring his life at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home at 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia led by Leslie’s niece, Doctor Cynthia Rosser Higgins.

He was born in Hampton, Va., son of Paul and Edith Moore. For the last five years he and his wife made their home in Wake Forest and Louisburg.

Moore was a graduate of Hampton High School and Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School. He retired from the Newport News Shipyard in 1984 after 45 years as a Pattern Maker and Cost Engineer.

Preceding him in death were his mother and father, two brothers, Paul W. Moore and William M. Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Rosser Moore; his daughters, Judy (Ken) Simon of Denver, Col., Pat Cizmadia of Louisburg and Leslie (Jeff) Hildreth of Louisburg; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. In addition he is survived by brother and sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
