STEM - David H. Strickland, 48, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at Duke University Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Durham. Fr. Steven B. Clark will preside.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Buies Creek First Baptist Church cemetery, Buies Creek.

He grew up in Franklinton and was the son of Alvin A. Strickland and the late Helen May Strickland. He attended Franklinton High School and graduated from N. C. State University with a degree in forestry and environmental science. For the last 18 years, he had been employed by Veolia Environmental Services. He was a member of St. Gregory’s Anglican Church.

Surviving: his wife, Anna Vail Strickland; father, Alvin A. Strickland of Franklinton; brother, Eddy Strickland (Gene) of Warrenton; two nieces, one nephew and one great-niece.
