STEPHANIE PAGE WADDELL JACKSON

Stephanie Jackson, 59, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 after a two year, courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on March 25, 1949, in Durham, N.C., but lived much of her childhood and teenage years in Raleigh. She was a graduate of Broughton High School and UNC Chapel Hill.

Stephanie spent most of her adult life in her “adopted” hometown of Louisburg, where she was active in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, as well as local politics. She was an avid reader, excellent cook, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her twin children, Liza Adcock (spouse: Chris Adcock) of Macon, N.C. and Eli Jackson (spouse: Christina Jackson) of Henderson, N.C.; her parents, John and Jean Waddell of Raleigh, N.C.; her sister, Vickie Riggsbee, also of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, John and Jackson Adcock, and Taylor Jackson.

Stephanie was fortunate to have a very special group of friends with whom she shared her life. They were especially dear to her as they supported her during her illness. Her “church family”, at St. Paul’s, also held a special place in her heart.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Parish House in Louisburg. A memorial service will be Friday, January 9, at 2 p.m., at the church as well.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 305 N. Church St., Louisburg NC, 27549, or to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are being handled by Alston and Anderson Funeral Service of Louisburg.
