WAKE FOREST - Beatrice Kearney Jones, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 in Hillside Nursing Care in Wake Forest. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 31) at Rowland Chapel Christian Church, with the Rev. Isaac Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Vasser Sr. and Marie Roberts Kearney. She attended Franklin County public schools. She retired from Medtech Company in New Jersey and returned to Henderson and worked as a bus monitor and private duty aid to the elderly.

Surviving: daughters, Diana Simril and Rhonda Whitfield, both of Henderson; a brother, Vasser Kearney Jr. of Henderson; sisters, Valarian Dickey of Florida and Delores Whitfield and Mary Toppic, both of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service on Saturday.
