URTIE S. WOLOZIN
LOUISBURG - Urtie Lillian Sledge Wolozin, born June 25, 1918, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Louisburg Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Walter Ernest Sledge and Nonie Lillian Parrish of Louisburg, N.C. Mrs. Wolozin retired from the State of North Carolina, John Umstead Hospital. She was a longtime member of Hickory Rock Baptist Church, an avid gardener, and a proud grandmother. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. Luke Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

She is survived by three sisters, Mary S. Sanford of New Bern, N.C., Shene S. Bowie of La Plata, MD., Irene S. Lichy of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two daughters, Jo Ann W. Fisher of Louisburg, N.C., and Barbara W. Craig and husband John of Chestertown, MD; two grandchildren, Susan Craig Evanco and husband Kevin of Hockessin, DE, and Elizabeth Craig DiGennaro and husband Steve of Bear, DE; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Louise Evancho, Whitney Jane Evancho, and Jake Thomas DiGennaro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.
