FRANKLINTON —Edith Whitaker Conyers, 85, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 30, 2011, at Franklin Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason Street in Franklinton, with the Rev. Clyde Waiden officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Vernon R. and Lena Vaughan Whitaker. She was a long-time member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Surviving: children, Linda Marie Hutchison of Tallahassee, Fla., Pamela Conyers Tuggle of Prince George, Va., Desiree Conyers Bowling of Ayden, and Clifton Vann Conyers Jr. of Franklinton; sister, Hallie Swanson; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Vann Conyers Sr., and one grandson.

Friends may visit Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
