NETTIE ANN PEGRAM MURPHY
BUNN – Nettie Ann Pegram Murphy, age 93, died peacefully at Kindred Traditional Care and Rehabilitation in Raleigh, NC, Friday, January 13, 2012.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ennis Grey Murphy; her parents, John Thomas and Mamie Hoyle Pegram; brothers, Kennie Pegram and Thurston Pegram; sisters, Mamie Belle Pegram and Essie Pegram Hunt.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Hoyle Murphy of Nashville and Elwood Grey Murphy of Durham; grandchildren, Anthony Grey (Andy) Murphy of Wendell, Maranda Michelle (Randee) Murphy of Stem, Shawn Joseph Murphy of Knightdale and Robbie Grey Murphy of Nashville; brother, John Timothy (Tim) Pegram and wife Peggy of Henderson.

Nettie was a homemaker and worked fifteen years with Durham Exchange Club, and was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church, where she played the organ and piano for 40 years.

The family of Nettie Ann Pegram Murphy wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Staff of Wake Medical ER; Doctors and Nurses of Wake Medical Observation Unit III; Staff of Kindred Traditional Care and Rehabilitation; Mark Nichols, M.D.; Lee Rhea Johns-Mabry, RN, MSN of Horizons Palliative Care; niece, Elaine Forehand and husband Tom; nephew, Emmanuel Pegram and wife Peggy; nephew, Durwood Pegram and wife Bernie; family friend Linda Pridgen

The family received friends at Strickland Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.  Funeral Services were held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Strickland Funeral Home, with the burial following at Old Bunn Cemetery, Bunn, NC.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials to Horizon Palliative Care, a Division of Hospice of Wake County, NC, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
