JENNY T. HANEY

ROLESVILLE - Jenny Sue Tant Haney, 63, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at Rex Healthcare. A family-led funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 East Mason St., Franklinton. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the funeral.

YOUNGSVILLE--Funeral services for Xavier Dowdy, 10, who died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, will be held Sunday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. at Manasseh Baptist Church in Franklinton, with the Rev. Samuel Tunstall officiating. Burial will follow in the Manasseh Church cemetery.

HENDERSON -- Bunn's march through its Northern Carolina Conference football schedule didn't get off to the greatest start.
But the Wildcats, after spotting host Southern Vance a big lead, were able to rally for a 34-30 decision over the Runnin' Raiders on Friday in the NCC opener for both squads.

WARRENTON-- It took over 23 minutes, but Warren County was finally able to find the blueprint to offensive success during Friday's Northern Carolina Conference opener against Louisburg.
The host Eagles were kept off the scoreboard before picking up their passing attack -- mainly because they were in hurry-up mode due to the shortness of time remaining before intermission.

With that in mind, Bransome significantly upgraded the Red Rams' slate this fall -- and that meant Class 4-A Southeast Raleigh was destined to visit the FHS Football Field Friday.
