HELEN J. WINTERS
RALEIGH - Helen Jacobson Winters, 83, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Wellington Nursing Center. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, with the Rev. Gary Newell officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.

She was born in New York, N.Y. to the late Leo Jackobson and Catherine Zimmerman Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harold Winters.

Surviving: daughters, Catherine W. Smith (Carl) of Louisburg, Lois W. Taylor of Raleigh; sons, George Richard Winters of Youngsville, Larry Stephen Winters (Pam) of Raleigh; brothers, Robert Jacobson of Raleigh, Edward Jacobson (Irene) of Texas, Leroy Jacobson (Ludy) of Florida; sister, Dorothy Ozer (Irv) of Willow Spring; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s Street, Fourth Floor, Raleigh, NC 27605.
