JAMES T. WOOD
ZEBULON - James Troy Wood, 88, died Monday evening, March 23, 2009. Funeral services were Thursday, March 26, in the Strickland Funeral Home chapel in Wendell. Burial followed in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late John R. and Golius Narron Wood. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and earned five Bronze Service Stars. He was retired from Square D. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlee Lamm Wood, and a son, Leroy Wood.

Surviving: his daughter, Goldie Dean of Wendell; son, James R. “Jim” Wood (Judy) of Middlesex; brother, Elton Wood of Decatur, Ga.; sister, Larsetine Pearce of Wendell; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
