VALLIE H. DICKERSON
HENDERSON - Vallie Harper Dickerson, 88, formerly of Henderson, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Britthaven of Louisburg. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, April 18) at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Gene Wood. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Vernon and Cora Mae Edwards Harper. a homemaker and the widow of Raymond Dock Dickerson.

She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving: two daughters, Sandra D. Hargreaves and Betty D. Jackson (Tommy), all of Henderson; sons, Donnie Dickerson (Yvette), Earl Dickerson (Deborah) and Joe Dickerson, all of Henderson; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Dickerson; sisters, Ruby H. Keith, Lou H. Ball and Lena H. Parrish; brothers, Mac Harper, Victor Harper, Bruce Harper, Forest Harper, Edwin Harper and Morris Harper.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern North Carolina Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, NC 27605.
