LOUISBURG – Maud Gupton Smith, 95, of Louisburg, died Friday evening at Wake Med.
Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Charlie Cook and Carrie Long Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husbands, E. Morton Gupton and Roy Smith. She was a member of Hickory Rock Baptist Church.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Sunday at Hickory Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Luke Smith officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Wadsworth of Asheville; son, Vann “Bobby” Gupton of Louisburg; sister, Margaret Bagwell of Louisburg; grandchildren, Jane Piercy, Mort Wadsworth and Timothy Gupton; great-grandson, Will Wadsworth.
Memorials may be made to Hickory Rock Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1580 Fire Tower Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
The family received friends immediately following the service.
Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
