PHILLIP C. ANDERS SR.
RALEIGH - Phillip Conley Anders Sr., 74, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Rex Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, June 13)  at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. Burial will follow the service at Historic Oakwood Cemetery with military honors.

He was born in Asheville to the late Ardle and Thelma Rector Anders. He served in the U.S. Army for four years and in the Navy for 28 years, retiring at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

Surviving: wife, Martha W. Anders; daughter, Pauline A. Hamilton of Conover; sons, Phillip C. Anders Jr. (Kathy) of Durham, Patrick L. Anders (Sheri) of Louisburg, Paul D. Anders (Brenda) of Raleigh; sisters, Judy Dalton and Nancy Chapin (Malcom), all of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rex Healthcare Foundation, 2500 Blue Ridge Rd., Suite 325, Raleigh, NC 27607.
