FRANK B. PENDER
YOUNGSVILLE —Frank Benjamin Pender, 85, died Oct. 4, 2009 at his home in Youngsville. He was born in Granville County, NC to Andrew (Jimbo) and Onnie Pender. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Kinches Chapel Christian Church, Franklinton, by the Rev. Richard Carnegie and the  Rev. Willie R. Nixon, III, pastor.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He was an active member and deacon of New Rock Spring Christian Church, Creedmoor. He was the owner and operator of Pender and Sons Garage of Franklinton for 43 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Pettiford Pender.

Surviving: six daughters, the Rev. Jeanette Pender of the home, Janice-Pender Davis (Worthy) of Franklinton, Joyce Pender-Egerton (Louis) of Youngsville, Bernice Pender-Massenburg (James) of Franklinton, Gloria Patricia Pender of Creedmoor, and Jewel Pender-Holden (Harold) of Youngsville; four sons, Johnny Pender (Dorothy) of Franklinton, Newell Pender of Franklinton,  Anthony Pender (Hellen) of Youngsville and Stanley Pender (Marie) of Youngsville; two sisters, Mamie Reeder-Davis of Wake Forest and Sarah Alice Lawrence of Ohio; three brothers, Shem T. Pender (Barbara) of Brooklyn, NY, Willie B. Pender (Virginia) of Edgewater Park, N.J. and Henry Pender of Franklinton; a special grandchild of the home; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
