SALLIE LOU C. WOOD
CASTALIA – Sallie Lou Currin Wood, 87, of the Red Bud Community, died Thursday evening, Feb. 4, 2010  at her home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Red Bud Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gatis Perry and the Rev. Robert Ricks Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home.

She was a daughter of the late Weldon and Maude W. Currin and was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant McKinley Wood; sister, Evelyn Bailey; and brother, Fenner Currin. She was a member of Red Bud Baptist Church.

Surviving: her children, Nancy Nelms (Delton), Billy Wood (Anne), Betty Faye Collins (Ray), Joan Wood, Jackie Wood (Debbie), Jeff Wood (Tracy), Joe Wood (Kathy), all of the Red Bud Community, Carl Wood (Brenda) of Zebulon, Donna Horton (William) of Louisburg; sisters, Frances Faulkner of Richmond, Va., and Mabel Edwards of Wake Forest; brothers, W. A. Currin of Henderson and Perry Currin of Louisburg; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, 1284 NC Hwy. 58, Castalia, NC 27816.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
