RUBY S. ALLSBROOK
ENFIELD - Ruby Thomas Shearin Allsbrook “Aunt Ruby”, 93, died Monday, June 7, 2010. A service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 9) at Lakeside Baptist Church. A commital service will follow at 3 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield.

She was born in the Wood Community of Franklin County, the daughter of the late H.B. Shearin Sr. and Mae Gupton Shearin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Allsbrook Sr., and brothers, Ronald Shearin of Louisburg and Creech Shearin of Rocky Mount.

She was a graduate of Park View Nursing School of Rocky Mount and made a career as a registered nurse at a private practice in Enfield.

Surviving: son, Robert W. Allsbrook Jr. (Jackie) of Rocky Mount; daughter, Shearin A. Johnson of Rocky Mount; sisters, Hodie S. McGinty of Augusta, Calif., and Louise S. Riddick of Rocky Mount; brothers, Hugh G. Shearin (June) of Rocky Mount and H.B. Shearin Jr. (Edith) of Louisburg; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Nash Community College Park View Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 7488, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Arrangements by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount.
