YOUNGSVILLE —Donald Charles Lake Sr., 61, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Saint Eugene Catholic Church, Wendell. Burial will be at noon Friday, Aug. 13, at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake.

He was born in Broome County, N. Y. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines and served in Vietnam.

Surviving: wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Vickery Lake; children, Donald Charles “Donnie” Lake Jr. of Smithfield, Erin Kathleen Johnson of Raleigh, Eric Daniel Lake (Emmie) of Yelm, Wash., and J. R. Vickery of Wilmington; parents, Walter and Inez Christian Lake of Owego, N.Y.; siblings, Mary Brink of Nichols, N.Y., Shirley Lake of Owego, N.Y., Robert Lake (Eileen) of Sanford and Barbara Cicchelli (Joe) of Pittsburg, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Father James D. Campbell O.P. Council #13511 of the Knights of Columbus, 460 Fox Park Road, Louisburg, NC 27549 or to Saint Eugene Catholic Church, Building Fund, P. O. Box 188, Wendell, NC 27591.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight (Wednesday, Aug. 11), with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
