DOROTHY K. RHODES
ZEBULON - Dorothy Lee King “Dot” Rhodes, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held  at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 15) at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Wake County, daughter of the late Mary Odom King and Houston Smith King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Drexel Ellis Rhodes; sisters, Ruth King Gay and Rudine King Alford.

She worked 15 years at Rolesville Elementary School as a teacher’s assistant.

Surviving: children, Ellis Rhodes (Amoret) of Youngsville, Mary Frazier Cunningham (Edward), Desiree R. Jones (A.J.), all of Wake Forest, Tony Rhodes (Allison) of Zebulon; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.
