CLARENCE E. CLEMENT JR.
YOUNGSVILLE - Clarence Edward Clement Jr., 71, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 in Raleigh. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 29) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main Street, Wake Forest.

He was born in Cherokee and was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward Clement Sr. and Ibeuria Lambert Thomasson; stepfather, Carl Thomasson; sister, Dorothy Clement Key; and a daughter, Lisa Clement Parker.

He worked in the construction industry for 44 years and was a vice-president with Clement Brothers Construction Company, co-owner of Cascade Company, Cherokee Contractors and Site Works, Inc. He also held managerial positions with Blythe Construction, Inc. and most recently S.T. Wooten Corporation. He served in the U. S. Army from 1963-1965 at Ft. Knox, Ky., and Fort Sill, Okla.

Surviving: his wife, Patricia Susan Clement; daughter, Kimberly Clement Poole (Gregory) of Gaffney, S.C.; sons, Clarence Edward Clement III (Shelley) of Paonia, Colo., Christopher Scott Clement (Toni) of Sims, and Mark Adam Clement (Harriet) of Chapin, S.C. stepdaughters, Amanda Yose and Jessica Yose; stepmother, Jessie Cooper Clement; siblings, Ray Clement, Ronald Clement, Gail Greenway and Diane Bruner; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105 or The Shriners Hospital For Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33607.
